Marva Wright - IL Chapter President 2016

Hello Colleagues,

We are in the midst of fall, and the holidays are quickly approaching. As we are all preparing to share in family, food and goodwill, know that we here at AMTA-IL are excitedly working on your behalf to ensure valuable educational and networking opportunities.

Thank you members, for answering the call on our ‘200 for $200’ promotion at the AMTA National Convention! Our Chapter, AMTA-IL, was slated with bringing the most members of all of the states (excluding the home state of Wisconsin) to the convention this year! But wait, there’s more! We were also awarded most IL members to attend a National Convention ever! In addition, you made our breakfast for all IL members attending the convention, a huge success! It was wonderful to see and speak with all of you. Getting to know our members helps us represent you better.

Save the date! Our annual state meeting and conference is coming up Mach 24-26, 2017. The location will be announced soon and we are planning some first-rate training for your educational needs. Be sure to stay tuned so that you are “in the know” when the announcements are made.

In case you missed it, the time has come for each of us to renew our state licenses. For the first time ever, the state of Illinois will not be sending out a renewal notice in the mail as a reminder to us. It is extremely important that all Illinois massage therapists go to https://www.idfpr.com to complete the license renewal process. If you do not complete the process by December 31, 2016, you will not be able to practice for pay in 2017 until you have been audited.

Lastly, AMTA-IL is in need of volunteers just like you, on all of our committees. If you have some time and are interested, email us at illinois@amtamassage.org and type “I Want to Volunteer” in the subject line. Let us know what your interests are, and you will be contacted to discuss what committee or committees match your skills. We also don’t mind training you to do something new and unfamiliar.

In closing, I’d like to wish you all the happiest of holiday’s this season. May all that you have worked and planned for, come to fruition. Be sure to be a blessing to others as you go about your daily routines, as we never know what hardships people are going through.

All the best,

Marva Wright
