President’s Message

Greetings Members,

Excitement is in the air as AMTA-IL prepares for our Annual Meeting and Conference!  It won’t be long before we are learning and networking together again and we’ve lined up some top notch educational and social opportunities to make it a worthy affair!  Our 2017 Annual Meeting and Conference is being held at the Hyatt Lodge at McDonald’s Campus in Oak Brook, IL March 24-26th.  Please go to the Chapter’s website at  http://il.wp.amtamassage.org/  to register online.

In addition to the state conference, we have some other great classes in store for you this year.  With Kinesio Taping (KT) 1&2 being offered at the state conference, we have scheduled Kinesio Taping 3 for Saturday April 29, 2017.  You will need to complete KT’s 1&2 to be eligible to take KT3 for certification.  KT3 will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn in Des Plaines, IL,.  Registration will start mid-March!

This October we will be offering a fun and exciting tax class if you can believe that.  This class was developed just for Massage Therapists but could easily be beneficial to most independent contractors and sole proprietors.  The class will take place at Parkland College in Champaign, IL.  More information will be available in the Chapter’s electronic newsletter this April.   Please be sure to read AMTA-IL newsletters to stay current with updates and new information.

I am truly grateful to all of you who answered the call for volunteers!  I have communicated with many members since our last edition of “In Touch” and I’m looking forward to hearing from you also.  As I stated in the last edition, if you have some time and are interested in volunteering, email us at illinois@amtamassage.org and type “I Want to Volunteer” in the subject line.  I will be making contacts by the end of January and as I receive them after that.

In closing, it is my pleasure to serve you in this capacity.  I hope that your new year has been happy so far and that the best is yet to come!   Your IL Chapter is here for you.  Let us know what you need.
